Three classic Stephen King novels are getting a retro repackaging from Scribner Books, and we’ve got an exclusive reveal of the cover art that will be available in stores on August 26, 2025.
The Dead Zone, Firestarter and Misery. These three titles join the previously released retro covers from Scribner, Pet Sematary, Cujo and Christine, which hit shelves last year.
Released in 1979, King’s The Dead Zone follows a man who awakens from a five year coma to discover he now has psychic powers, which he uses to hunt a serial killer and prevent the rise of an evil politician. Firestarter, released a year later in 1980, revolves around a young girl with pyrokinesis. 1987’s Misery follows the plight of writer Paul Sheldon who is held captive by Annie Wilkes, a maniacal superfan. All three of the novels have received film adaptations from David Cronenberg, Mark L. Lester and Rob Reiner respectively.
Scribner has been publishing King’s works since 1996, with his latest novel, Never Flinch, set for release on May 27.
