THE LEGEND OF BUNNYMAN ENTERS DEVELOPMENT — A NEW HORROR ICON EMERGES FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

THE LEGEND OF BUNNYMAN ENTERS DEVELOPMENT — A NEW HORROR ICON EMERGES FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

A chilling new chapter in horror cinema is officially underway as The Legend of Bunnyman enters development from Jimmy Star Entertainment, Jennifer James Films, Ladylake Entertainment, and Beautiful Rebellion Films. Drawing from one of America’s most haunting urban legends, the film is poised to introduce what creators are calling the next iconic villain of the 21st century.

Written and to be directed by Jennifer James, The Legend of Bunnyman transforms myth into a modern cinematic nightmare. Inspired by the infamous folklore surrounding the so-called “Bunnyman,” a mysterious and violent figure tied to decades of unsettling reports and whispered stories, the film reimagines the legend with a bold, character-driven approach designed not only to terrify audiences—but to establish a lasting presence in the horror genre.

“Horror has always been driven by unforgettable villains,” said representatives from the production team. “With The Legend of Bunnyman, we’re not just making a film—we’re creating a character that can stand alongside the most recognizable figures in horror history.”

The production brings together a dynamic collaboration of companies with a shared vision: to build a franchise-ready property from the ground up. By combining creative storytelling, atmospheric tension, and a visually striking antagonist, the team is focused on delivering a film that resonates with both traditional horror fans and a new generation of audiences.

At the center of the story is the Bunnyman—a deceptively simple yet deeply unsettling figure whose presence blurs the line between folklore and reality. The character’s eerie duality—rooted in innocence yet driven by darkness—offers a powerful foundation for a new kind of horror icon: one that is instantly recognizable, psychologically compelling, and built for long-term storytelling across multiple platforms.

The timing is strategic. With horror continuing to dominate global box offices and streaming platforms, demand for original intellectual property and franchise-capable characters has never been higher. The Legend of Bunnyman is positioned to meet that demand, with early development focused on scalability across sequels, streaming extensions, and ancillary content.

Casting is set to begin soon, with additional announcements regarding key talent, production timeline, and distribution expected in the coming months.
