“Rohan still needs you!” Warner Bros has debuted an extensive new 8-minute promo clip for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim – arriving in theaters nationwide in a few weeks. Ready to watch? This is labeled as the “first 8 minutes” but it’s not from the opening – all of this footage is from the mid-point of the movie when they’re already sheltered within Helms Deep (aka Hornburg). This LOTR anime is produced by Peter Jackson and made in Japan by anime filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama – watch the first official trailer here. A sudden attack by Wulf, a clever and ruthless Dunlending lord seeking vengeance for the death of his father, forces Helm Hammerhand, the King of Rohan, and his people to make a daring last stand in the ancient stronghold of the Hornburg. The main voice cast includes Brian Cox as Helm, Gaia Wise as Hèra, Luke Pasqualino as Wulf, Laurence Ubong Williams as Fréaláf, Shaun Dooley as Freca, and Miranda Otto (returning) to narrate as Éowyn. This movie focuses on the Helm’s Deep story and how it happened – introduce more characters to follow through this monumental fight. It’s still an exciting return to Middle Earth following many heroic (and evil) characters in an epic story. Catch it on the big screen soon.
