“In 28 Days it began. In 28 weeks it spread. In 28 years it evolved.” 🧟 Sony Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for the 28 Years Later horror sequel – arriving in theaters in June 2025 next summer. It’s once again being directed by Danny Boyle, who directed the original 28 Days Later (from 2002), a horror classic featuring fast zombies that still remains a favorite amongst zombie fans. Its sequel 28 Weeks Later (from 2007) was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and was only exec produced by Boyle at the time. This next one also features Alex Garland returning to co-write the screenplay with Boyle. It was shot back-to-back with its sequel 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple, directed by Nia DaCosta, which doesn’t have a release date yet. 28 Years Later stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes. And also Cillian Murphy from the original who you might spot in this trailer. Hell yes!! What a remarkable first look – THIS is a proper trailer. The radio program playing in the background with all the silent shots of zombies is crazy scary! It’s looking like this will be so worth the wait.
