From Prime Video and the creative minds behind the adult animated anthology series “LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS” comes the new series “Secret Level,” exploring original stories set within the worlds of some of the most beloved video games. Expect things to get very dark.
“Secret Level” will be available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide starting on December 10, with additional episodic drops until December 17.
The series, from Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, gives new interpretations and original tales set within our favorite video games, with the trailer below teasing some of the games featured. That includes a rather dark reimagining of Pac-Man, with series writer JT Petty explaining in an interview with EW how they arrived at translating the game’s iconic ghosts into carnivorous monsters below. “We spent a long time trying to respect the entire 50-year history with Pac-Man and did a lot of retro-style, cute cartoon Pac-Man s—,” Petty told EW. “Eventually, me and Dave were like, we just gotta do the John Melius version of this. What is Blood Meridian Pac-Man?”
The series was created by and executive produced by Tim Miller. Dave Wilson serves as executive producer and supervising director.
The voice cast for the new series is insane. It showcases a star-studded cast including Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator Franchise), Kevin Hart (Jumanji), Keanu Reeves (John Wick), Temuera Morrison (The Book of Boba Fett, Chief of War), Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie), Heaven Hart, Emily Swallow (The Mandalorian), Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us, Terminator: Dark Fate), Ricky Whittle (American Gods, Land of Bad), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Gen V, Daniel Isn’t Real), Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us), Claudia Doumit (The Boys), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost, The Union), Clive Standen (Vikings, The Morning Show), Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina), and Michael Beach (The Perfect Couple, Tulsa King).
Watch the trailer below, along with a glimpse of the Pac-Man episode, and get ready for an exciting new animated series.
