Ice Nine Kills Go Full SILENCE OF THE LAMBS In New Music Video

Last Updated on March 16, 2024 by Ryan Scott

Heavy metal band Ice Nine Kills is back with a brand new music video that harkens back to one of the all-time great horror classics. The band has revealed the video for the single “Meat & Greet” from their upcoming album Welcome to Horrorwood: Under Fire, and it sees them taking on 1991’s The Silence of the Lambs. Check it out.

The song is heavy as hell and it leans pretty hard into recreating Jonathan Demme’s seminal genre film, which remains one of very few horror titles to ever be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. They nail the Hannibal Lecter and the Clarice Starling of it all. There’s a good reason these guys appeared in the print issue of Fangoria earlier this year. In addition to the video, you can also check out the artwork for the band’s new album below, which is set to arrive later this week.

This is just the latest in a string of horror-themed music videos made by the band over the last couple of years. They’ve also had videos themed after Child’s Play and American Psycho. Leaning into horror has helped the band reach new heights more than 20 years into their career, with The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood peaking at number 18 on the Billboard charts back in October of 2021.

The video was premiered during a live event dubbed Ice Nine Kills Presents: Meat & Greet: The Horrorwood Saga Comes To A TASTEFUL End. The event marked the launch of “Meat & Greet” as part of a premiere screening of Ice Nine Kills’ complete Horrorwood Saga film, which is composed of all eight of their official music videos from 2021’s chart-topping album, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood. The band’s frontman Spencer Charnas had this to say about it:

“After two years and eight music videos, we’re ready to bring the ‘Welcome To Horrorwood’ saga to a shocking and tasteful climax with the unveiling of the final episode – ‘Meat & Greet’. Join us in celebrating the entire blood-soaked era of ‘The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood’ as we present the horrifying climax of our cinematic saga…..at least for now.”

Welcome to Horrorwodd: Under Fire hits shelves on October 20. Those interested can pre-order a copy by clicking here.
