“World domination? That’s my thing!” “Which hemisphere should we invade first?” Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for Plankton: The Movie, a spin-off SpongeBob Squarepants animated movie. Not the hybrid live-action mashups that have been released in theaters recently (one with Keanu Reeves!) this is just another 3D animated movie for Netflix to stream. Starting in March it will be available to watch. Plankton’s world is flipped upside down when his plan for world domination is thwarted. His tangled love story with his sentient computer wife goes sideways when she takes a stand — and decides to destroy the world without him. The voice cast features all the regulars: Mr. Lawrence, Jill Talley, Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Carolyn Lawrence, with Clancy Brown and Rodger Bumpass. Featuring music by Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper. This film looks like tons of fun! Especially watching Plankton go wild and get in all kinds of trouble.
Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Dave Needham’s Plankton: The Movie, direct from YouTube:
SpongeBob SquarePants’ tiniest frenemy, Sheldon J. Plankton (voiced by Mr. Lawrence), is finally getting his close up. Plankton: The Movie is directed by storyboard artist / animation filmmaker Dave Needham, also director of The Loud House Movie previously, plus a storyboard artist on many animation series and head of story on the movie Smallfoot. The screenplay is written by Mr. Lawrence & Kaz and Mr. Lawrence & Chris Viscardi; from a story by Mr. Lawrence. Based on the Series “SpongeBob SquarePants” created by Stephen Hillenburg.
